Mermaid Body Found? Americans Duped By Animal Planet Show

People all over the US now believe mermaids are real after Animal Planet aired ‘Mermaids: The Body Found’. The show was a fictional account detailing the discovery of a mermaid body that was filmed documentary style, much like The Blair Witch Project.

The show, which clearly stated that it was science fiction, claimed to “be based on some real events,” and that apparently was enough to confuse people.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a statement to clear up any confusion. NOAA clarified that “no evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found,” thus refuting the belief that mermaids are real.

According to fishnewseu.com, NOAA has released statements about other unexplained phenomena in the past including the Bermuda Triangle and the Lost City of Atlantis. Now, the belief that a mermaid body was found joins those two mysteries as nothing more than a misunderstanding.
