Kate Middleton Is Finally Pregnant
All the rumors are finally not rumors anymore: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their first little royal.
Buckingham Palace and Clarence House announced Kate Middleton’s pregnancy, which is in its “very early stages,” today, MSNBC reports.
In addition to being Prince William’s heir and third in line to the throne, the little one will be the first grandchild for both his family and the Middleton family. But it hasn’t been an easy pregnancy so far: Kate was admitted to the hospital today with severe morning sickness, and will be there for several days.
Prince William, Kate Middleton Expecting First Baby?
Prince William said he would like to have two babies with wife Kate Middleton.
Wills said today while the couple was touring Singapore as part of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. “Someone asked him how many children he would like to have, and he said he was thinking about having two,” a student tells the AP. William has never before specifically numbered his future children, although an heir and a spare isn’t unheard of in royal circles.
And the couple might already be on the way, because Kate ignored her glass of wine at a banquet in Singapore yesterday, the Daily Beast reports. Even more suspicious, she—not once, but twice—toasted the queen with the water she drank instead. Such a thing is just not done in royal toasts, the Beast notes, adding that rumors of a royal pregnancy have been coming in recently even before the wine incident.
The New York Daily News also claims the duchess “showed what may be a hint of a baby bump” in Singapore, and Star magazine recently ran a photo of one of her dresses that had been let out an inch as proof that she must be with child.
Prince William Turns 30, Gets $16 Million Gift
Prince William is not inheriting the British throne just yet, but he is getting nearly $16 million or so today. This is the prince’s 30th birthday and he can now get his hands on half of Princess Diana’s estate, reports the Telegraph.
The prince, who already has a few million of his own, is believed to be planning to sign up for another tour as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot, and officials say he’s not planning to spend his new millions on a big country house in the near future. “Whatever the financial position might be, you will see no obvious change of lifestyle over the coming weeks or months,” notes a royal aide.
Prince William Getting $16 Million 30th Birthday Present
Prince William has nothing to worry about turning 30… He is about to inherit as much as $16 million from the estate of his late mother.
“It will be quite a handy sum if he wants to buy his and Kate’s first family house,” a source tells the Daily Mail. “What else would he need the money for?” The royal duo have digs in London’s Kensington Palace, but might now consider a second pad close to Prince Charles’ Highgrove retreat, some speculate.
Diana left close to $20 million worth of stocks, jewelry, and cash after her death in 1997, but the value of the estate has likely grown through investments to just over $30 million, which is to be split between William and Harry.
Diana initially wanted her boys to be able to access the money when they turned 25, but the age was upped to 30 after she died. William’s 30th birthday is June 21.
The prince already earns some $60,000 a year as an Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot, and an allowance from his dad. In addition, he can also draw on some $3 million left in trust by the queen mother. Diana’s will allowed her sons the option of dividing the estate differently. It’s possible William may arrange for more of their mom’s estate to go to Harry because the likely future king will earn many millions more than Harry.
Kate Middleton pregnant? Royal baby could be on the way
A royal source is insisting to In Touch that, yes, Kate Middleton is pregnant—just six weeks—and that she and her prince are oh-so-relieved to finally get the queen off their backs about having her great-grandbaby.
“Since before they even got married, it’s been made clear to William and Kate that having children should be their number-one priority,” says the source.
The royal parents-to-be are already planning not one but three royal nurseries—in Nottingham Cottage, in their home in Wales, and another at Kensington Palace. They’re also already talking “traditional” names—likely Edward, Philip, and Michael for a boy, or Alice or Rose for a girl, says the source.
Is Kate Middleton pregnant?
Is Kate Middleton pregnant already? London’s Sun has speculated that there could soon be the patter of little feet at the new larger digs of the princess and her prince.
One hint? Kate turned down a taste of high-protein peanut paste with her hubby during a visit to a UNICEF distribution center. Government experts in Britain have long recommended that mums-to-be avoid peanuts because of allergy worries.
Us magazine, meanwhile, reports that Kate, 29, continually hugged and patted her flatish belly during the same visit as if it were already holding very precious cargo. “It was very odd,” an observer tells the Daily Mail. “Kate would not stop touching her tummy. It was very noticeable. She continually patted it and held her hands against it. She must have been doing it without realizing, and at one point she had both her hands cradling her stomach.”
Prince Charles: Kate Middleton is totally stealing my thunder
Prince Charles is throwing a royal tantrum. Apparently he’s pissed that his son Prince William and new daughter-in-law Kate are youthful and gorgeous while he and wife Camilla Parker-Bowles are more wrinkly and unattractive.
“He does not have the X-factor,” as one royal biographer puts it.
Ken Wharfe, Diana’s former bodyguard, is far less tactful.
“To put it bluntly, Kate is beautiful and young and they aren’t. The Queen is 85. Camilla looks older than that, and Prince Charles isn’t popular. Instead of getting angry, they should be embracing Kate as an ambassador.”
Since William and Kate wed in April, Charles has fretted that “people would be less interested in what he has to say on issues such as the environment and architecture if, on the same day, Kate is wearing a new dress.”
… someone needs to break it to him that nobody has ever cared about what he has to say.
Royalty is coming to the USA
Brace yourself California, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to Hollywood.
Britain’s Prince William and his new bride Catherine will visit California in July as part of their first foreign trip as newlyweds. The Royals will be in the state for three days beginning July 8, right after their weeklong tour of Canada, William’s Office said Thursday. The Duke and Duchess are planning stops on Ottawa, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Alberta and the Northwest Territories, including a trip to the Arctic, upon arrival in Canada on June 30.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit California, United States of America, following their tour of Canada in July this year,” read the statement from the prince’s official London residence, St James’s Palace. “The couple will visit the state of California from 8th July to 10th July 2011. A detailed itinerary will be published at a later date.”
Whispers that Wills and Kate may be headed Stateside first surfaced on Tuesday. Famed Princess Diana biographer Andrew Morton cited unknown sources who said the couple would be headed to Hollywood “in late June or early July.”
It will be William’s first official trip to the United States and Kate’s first Stateside visit ever. Los Angeles is the home of Royal Wedding attendees David and Victoria Beckham and the supercouple is expected to play a role in the newlyweds’ trip.
