It’s been 16 years since a female American team was gymnastics champion at the Olympic Games.
McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, Alexandra Raisman, Gabrielle Douglas and Jordyn Weiber will never forget today. The Americans took the gold with 183.596 points, Russia took the silver with 178.530 and Romania rounded out the Podium taking the bronze with 176.414.
Entering today’s competition, Bela Karolyi said no other team compared to the U.S. “This is the deepest team in the world.”
