Scotsman Andy Murray might become the most popular athlete in Great Britain if he can win Wimbledon. Murray is easily the best active player to never win a major. He has been a runner-up three times, including at this year’s Australian Open. But Murray has never won a set in his three finals. No other player in history has reached at least three Grand Slam finals and not won a set. Murray has yet to reach the Wimbledon final, although he has reached the semis each of the past two seasons. No player from the UK has won a major since Fred Perry won his third and final Wimbledon title in 1936.
