The Avengers Have Incredible Opening Weekend

The Avengers producers must be really happy… An international opening combined with a whopping $207 million here in the US is putting the new marvel movie at $645 million already.
The Avengers even topped Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which opened to $169.2 million last summer, making it the largest debut in history. The Hunger Games was holding the 2012 record, sitting at $617.7 million.
No doubt these numbers have Disney executives thrilled, especially after the $200 million loss they took on the recent “blockbuster” John Carter.
