Elizabeth Taylor’s Sons Don’t Want Lindsay Lohan To Play Their Mom

has been the target of some hate since it was announced that she will play in the upcoming telemovie Liz and Dick. But no hate can compare to the one she is getting from the screen dame’s own sons — Michael and Chris Wilding — who have joined the naysayers who disapprove of the controversial casting.

A family friend allegedly told The National Enquirer that Liz’s sons are staunchly against the move to cast Lohan in the coveted role.

“They feel there are many other actresses who are far more qualified to play their famous mother. They think gorgeous and talented stars such as Cate Blanchett or Emily Blunt should have been shortlisted for the role. Liz’s children feel their mom deserved better!”

“Liz was not only a great movie star, but a great philanthropist and it’s a slap in the face of her memory to have this errant party girl play her. She’d be screaming bloody murder over this whole fiasco!”

The Lifetime Network tapped producer Larry Thompson to helm the project. The Hollywood vet has spent much of the past few weeks defending his decision to cast Lohan, who reportedly edged out Megan Fox for the part. Thompson believes that Lindsay’s “vulnerability” makes her perfect for the role.

“She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles next month.
